Last year, Kube GmbH worked with Tremonia Mobility on the technical Optimization of the City 75 ELECTRIC, which was recently named Minibus of the Year 2025. This Project is a prime Example of innovative Vehicle Development, where modern Simulation Techniques and structural Analyses offer decisive added Value.
Our Role in Project Optimization
The focus of our work was on the structural design of the low-floor and high-floor areas of the minibus. Detailed Calculations and Finite Element Simulations (FEM) enabled us to develop targeted adjustments that both improved load-bearing capacity and strengthened the overall structure of the vehicle in the long term.
A particular project success: targeted lightweight construction measures and structural adjustments made it possible to significantly reduce the weight of the vehicle while maintaining the same level of rigidity.
Overview of Technical Measures:
- Reinforcements in the raised floor at the rear axle
These reinforcements reduce localised stress peaks and increase structural rigidity in the critical area of the rear axle. - Revised axle mount with additional nodes
The modification ensures improved force distribution and increases fatigue strength under dynamic loads, which enhances the durability of the axle design. - Adjustments to the spot welds and increased sheet metal wall thickness
Targeted modifications to the weld points and increased sheet metal thickness minimise stress peaks and ensure structural integrity under high loads.
Project Insights
“From the outset, our collaboration with Kube Ingenieurbüro GmbH was characterized by a high level of technical expertise and a deep understanding of the complex technical requirements of our vehicle. We wanted to try to achieve maximum passenger capacity in combination with a safe and reliable design. Together, we were able to achieve significant improvements to our premium product, the City 75 ELECTRIC, through precise simulations and targeted structural measures – a real gain in terms of vehicle quality and efficiency. The collaboration was enjoyable – we’d be happy to do it again!”
Dirk Frieling, Coordination Construction, Tremonia Mobilty
“The joint project with Mr. Frieling and Tremonia Mobility was characterized by mutual trust, technical excellence and constructive exchange on an equal footing. In a Project Environment that was new and challenging for us, we worked together to develop targeted solutions – from simulation and analysis to optimization of the relevant structures. Particularly noteworthy were the open communication at all times and the shared focus on quality and efficiency. We look forward to future projects with great confidence and enthusiasm.”
